About

Loving God, loving people

Hedland Baptist Church is an evangelical church that exists to do ‘Life’ together — Living In Fellowship to Evangelise.

We’re a bunch of ordinary, Christian grass-roots people, with no fancy wrappings. Our desire is for others to see us as the Lord sees us — completely imperfect, but totally sold out to Him.

You’ll find us nestled in the North-Western region of the Pilbara. Although we have a small core congregation of Hedland locals, we’re also a spiritual ‘home away from home’ for those just passing through. Whether it’s a weekend, a month, or even a year, we’re pleased to welcome you. At Hedland Baptist, church is more than an organisation you join — it’s a family in which you belong.

Driven by the power of one

Whilst we’re always up for a good-spirited discussion on anything non-essential to the foundation of the Christian faith, we never compromise the essential truths of God’s Word. Our beliefs completely shape and guide our teachings and culture as we embrace the wholeness of God’s love, grace, and mercy.

One God

There is one God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ alone is head of the church — he has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct in the life of churches and individuals.

One Community

The Church is the community called into being by God. In both its universal and local expressions, it consists of persons who have personally and knowingly accepted Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord.

One Path

Jesus Christ has opened the way for every believer to approach God the Father directly through him. God also speaks to us through the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments.

Ben & Kat

Ben and Kat were both born in Port Hedland and have always loved the town, the people, and the region. They live locally with their three beautiful children — Aubrey Scarlet and Vodie — and enjoy adventures in the outdoors like fishing and spearfishing, boating, and camping.

Ben has been the Pastor at Hedland Baptist Church since 2015. He loves the community and how it connects him to so many people and their faith journeys.

Ben and Kat would love to chat with you this Sunday — say hello if you see them!
